Our Food

our food

At Quinta Bonita we are passionate about living well and eating well

We are fortunate to be able to source a variety of locally grown and seasonal produce in the Algarve, meaning our guests can indulge their love of fine food and wine made with a plethora of healthy ingredients and sourced from the freshest local providers.

Our food emerges from the seasons, with as little footprint as possible and the kitchen is where our creative juices are allowed to flow according to the weather, the mood of those we are cooking for and that of those people who are creating it.

Our philosophy is simple, tasty and local. Favouring vegetarian cooking for our retreats using fresh produce from our own herb and vegetable garden and taking advantage of our wonderful local produce such as barbecued sea bass and slow roasted organic wild boar when choosing to expand the menu further. Our food is prepared with love as we believe that great food experiences enhance your holiday and live on in your memories .

At Quinta Bonita we believe meal times are not just about mouthwatering flavours – they are about service – five star service in our case, in a laid back environment. Let us prepare your favourite cocktail from our honesty bar or a nice big loose leaf herbal tea in a comfy mug whilst you sit back, relax and enjoy the occasion.

Local Restaurants

We have a wonderful array of restaurants right on our doorstep and we will happily share our favourites and book you a table for dinner.

As a group, visit our neighbours winery, not open to the public, for a truly authentic Portuguese experience. Delicious home cooked meals in their rustic barn with a choice of wines – weave your way back through the vines to QB at the end of the night – a 15 minute walk.

Self catering

Groups can cater themselves in our fully equipped kitchen or ask our in-house chefs to cater for them on one or more of your nights with us.

The green way

Quinta Bonita recognizes its environmental responsibility and is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. The first step is by having the conversation – little by little we can make a big difference.

Our water is solar heated and all garden water provided from a bore hole. The pool maintenance and all household cleaning products are environmentally friendly. We aim to use organic products wherever possible with many herbs and fresh fruit sourced from our own land.

  • We recycle all glass, paper, plastic and tin in addition to having our own natural compost for vegetable and fruit waste.

  • We are committed to reducing the use of plastic by stopping plastic bag use for our weekly shop, providing loose leaf teas and filtered flavoured water for people to help themselves.

  • We are also committed to supporting the local community with, for example, fresh bread and eggs provided daily from local neighbours and wines sourced through local boutique wineries.
